If I lived out in the sticks, I'd start it up, wait maybe 2-3 minutes then pussyfoot it through the gears on some back roads till everything got warm. In the city, that's not an option. I have maybe 2 miles before I hit the highway. That's not enough time for it to warm up and safely accelerate to merge with traffic. The oil contamination, from what I've read and researched, is only an issue with short trips, and burns off after about 30 minutes of at-temp driving.
